Welcome to Basic Pistol! If you are new to handguns or looking to build a strong, confident foundation from the ground up, this class was built for you. We foster a supportive, relaxed, and pressure-free environment where you can ask questions, learn at your own pace, and gain real confidence with your firearm.
What You’ll Learn
Firearms Safety: Build habit-based safety practices that keep you and those around you safe.
Handgun Fundamentals: Master the mechanics of pistol types, accessories, ammunition, and how your firearm works.
Core Shooting Skills: Learn step-by-step techniques for stance, grip, sight picture, and trigger control.
Basic Holster Work: Learn safe, efficient techniques for presenting your firearm from a holster and returning it safely without rushing.
Practical Drills: Guided exercises to help you build accuracy, control, and consistent shooting speed.
Troubleshooting: Understand how to identify and clear common malfunctions smoothly and safely.
Who Should Attend?
This course is specifically designed for absolute beginners, first-time gun owners, or anyone looking to refresh their foundational shooting mechanics in an encouraging setting.
What to Bring & Requirements
Liability Waiver: Completed prior to or at the start of class.
Eye & Ear Protection: Required on the range. (Don’t have your own? No problem—we’re happy to provide them!)
50 Rounds of Ammunition: Let us know ahead of time if you need assistance sourcing ammo.
Handgun & Quality Holster: Bring your own setup, or feel free to reserve one of our complimentary Warrior Monk Academy loaner pistols and holsters. (If bringing your own holster, please watch our video in the training library on what makes a quality holster. We are happy to make one for you for class use if you need; please let us know ahead of time so that we can make that happen for you.)
Personal Comforts: Bring any snacks, water, or non-alcoholic drinks you’d like. Feel free to refuel whenever you need during class breaks!
