Class Overview:
Basic Pistol is an introductory class designed to give you the best of learning the basics of pistol usage.
What should you expect?
- A firm understanding of firearms safety.Â
- A working knowledge of pistol types, accessories, ammunition, & function.
- Fundamentals of pistol shooting.
- Participate in drills developed to help develop accuracy, speed, and precision.
- How to identify malfunctions, stoppages, and avoid accidents.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for beginners in the firearms world or those who are new to pistols specifically.
Requirements:Â
- Completion of a liability waiver.
- Hearing and eye protection are required for this class. If you do not have your own, we can provide this to you.
- 50 rounds of ammunition. Please let our instructors know if you are unable to provide this. You will also be able to purchase ammo at the range.
- A handgun is required, though WMA has loaner pistols; you are more than welcome to use.
- If you require creature comforts during class, such as food or drink, feel free to bring them to class. You are welcome to eat or drink (non-alcoholic) during the class or the break portions of the class.
Takeaways:
By the end of this class, participants will have a full working knowledge of the fundamentals of firearms safety, usage, & nomenclature. Participants will also have on-range experience with guided coaching on the practical application of pistol shooting and defensive techniques.
